Kristallnacht

Kristallnatch is a German word translated onto english it means crystal night literally. Although when it was used it was known as The Night of Broken Glass. Kristallnatch became a tragically famous night. It was November 9th to the 10th, 1938 Nazi Germany and Austria. When an anti-jewish pogrom broke out killing approximately 91 Jews and around 30,000 jews were arrested. During Kristallnatch Jews were beaten and deported while Nazi police smashed jewish synagogues, houses and shops. The night of broken glass represents when thousands of people became broken themselves. So many people died that night wether they were still breathing or not when they went to the concentration camps, they weren't really alive anymore. Those that thought they were lucky to make it through the night and into the morning had no idea the hell that would come with survival.

Markus Zusak

Markus Zusak was Born June 23, 1975, in Sydney. His father was an
Austrian house painter, and his mother was German. Zusak grew up the youngest for four children, hearing stories of Nazi Germany, the bombing of Munich, and Jews being marched through his mothers small home town in Germany. Those stories are what encouraged him to
write.

Now he has a lot of books out and has won quite a bit of awards for them. The first book he wrote was The Underdog when he was only 16. It was published seven years later The book Thief, The Messenger, When Dogs Cry, and Fighting Ruben Wolfe. Are all books that have won major awards in not only Austria but the U.S. as well. Predicting Catching Fire

I think that Peeta and Katniss will end up getting together and going against the government. I could also see the government force Peeta and Katniss to marry unless they are willing to admit that they are not in love. I have a feeling that there will be just as much death and pain in the next book called Catching Fire.

I chose the word fire because they have been about fire during the whole book. Fire makes me think of pain and they deffintly went through more then just pain. They went through hell.

Susan B. Anthony

Susan B. Anthony fought against human misery. She wanted to make so that woman could have more power over there own bodies and minds. One of the biggest things she did is she helped make birth control legal. That way woman could decided if they wanted to become pregnant and it was no longer just the guys choice. She ended up getting her face on the one dollar coin for all the hard
work she did.

I think what Susan did was amazing she gave woman opportunities. Although she did not get involved with the woman's rights conventions until she was older she still did a lot of work. So for more information please link to my glog.

The Crucible book summery

In The Crucible it is about pertains in 1692. They where very strict people and even children had to act like adults. No one could have a mind of there own. So when one day a whore named Abigail started to say that people were doing witchcraft. By her own ignorance she started to turn people into the authorities. She was telling them that these people had sent the devil after her and that they needed to go to hell.

Excommunication

Today in the book The Crucible I chose the word "Excommunication." The reason this word is used is because there is not enough communication. If there was more communication instead of higher powers that tell everyone how to live. It would be better and more efficient if they communicated on a better level.

Torn Hearts

A heart thou art broken,
The infectious storm,
The cries in the night,
The screams in the wind.

The broken glass in the bed,
The shattered dreams,
Tears hidden in the dark,
Hung by Love.
